American Association for the Advancement of Science — Women in Science

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) invited Nora Sabelli, Ph.D., co-director of SRI's Center for Technology in Learning, to be one of nine U.S. women scientists who shared their career experiences with colleagues in various Latin American locations. In August 2002, Dr. Sabelli traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica, to participate in the 30th anniversary celebration of Costa Rica's National Council for Scientific and Technological Research.Dr. Sabelli spoke about the role of women in science and technology, the obstacles women face in fields traditionally dominated by men, and the strategies for overcoming those obstacles.
