2002: SRI's Washington, D.C., office commemorates 50 years of work in the U.S. capital region.
2003: SRI spins off PacketHop, Inc., which provides mobile broadband communications to first responders, consumers, and enterprises.
2004: SRI spins off Artificial Muscle, Inc., a smart materials company.
