SRI has pioneered the art and science of robotics technology for more than 40 years. Today, SRI's Robotics Program is developing dexterous telemanipulation solutions, healthcare automation solutions, and advanced component technologies, including new capabilities such as electroadhesion, which is being demonstrated on platforms such as surface-climbing robots and advanced industrial manipulation solutions.

Through exploration and development of advanced robotics solutions, we endeavor to redefine the design space for robotics. Our strength stems from a depth and breadth of expertise ranging from applied research through the design and development of advanced prototypes.

Both military and commercial sectors show growing interest in a next generation of robotics technology for more interpersonal applications – bomb neutralization, personal care, light industrial applications, and micro-manufacturing. SRI is at the leading edge of systems and technologies for this emerging market.
