SRI’s Center for Education Policy conducts technically rigorous education policy research at the local, state, and national levels. The Center examines

• Strategies for improving educational outcomes for traditionally underserved students

• Models for school and school system reform

• Initiatives to raise the quality of teachers

• Strategies for improving curriculum and instruction

Our overall goal is to identify what works to improve education, and to translate that information to policymakers for their decisions about public investments in the education system from preschool through college.

The Center's staff has extensive experience in statistical analyses and data management, qualitative research methods, randomized controlled trials and quasi-experimental studies, and large-scale surveys.

The Center is known for its authoritative and accessible reports and for working closely with clients to provide timely information on pressing educational issues. Principal clients include the federal government, state governments, school districts, foundations, and nonprofit organizations.
