Angela Haydel DeBarger
Angela Haydel DeBarger, Ph.D., is a senior reserach scientist in SRI's Center for Technology in Learning. Her research focuses on the design, implementation and validation of innovative classroom assessments that promote student learning. She currently leads projects that study approaches for addressing students’ learning needs and motivating interest in science through technology-supported formative assessment practices in the domains of chemistry, earth science, and physics.
DeBarger also works with state departments of education in using common core standards and principles of evidence-centered design and universal design for learning to develop formative and summative tasks for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
Prior to joining SRI, DeBarger was a research assistant at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and at Stanford University.
She has an A.B. with honors in educational psychology from Stanford and an M.S. in psychology from the University of Michigan. Her Ph.D. in educational psychology is from Stanford.
