Anne-Marie Knokey

Research Analyst, Center for Education + Human Services

Anne-Marie Knokey is a research analyst in SRI International’s Center for Education and Human Services. She conducts research on issues in disability policy and human services. In SRI's longitudinal studies of students receiving special education services, her contributions have included data collection, task coordination, analysis and reporting, and dissemination.

Knokey was a co-leader on the direct assessment of students' academic abilities and led the parent interview components for these studies. She was a project manager for the National Study of Alternate Assessments, which collected detailed information about assessments states were using nationally for students with significant cognitive disabilities. On this project, her work included reviewing and developing data collection instruments as well as collecting, analyzing, and reporting quantitative data.

Currently, Knokey is working on the General Supervision Enhancement Grant for Oklahoma, which addresses the reading accessibility, technical adequacy, and eligibility and accommodations involved with Oklahoma’s modified alternate assessment program. Her responsibilities include creating data collection systems, procedures, and instruments; managing data collection activities; and analysis and reporting. 

In addition, she is contributing to the work on the Alternate Assessment Design - English Language Arts project, working with Idaho, Kansas, and Utah to design and develop assessment tasks in English language arts for students with significant cognitive disabilities.

Knokey holds a bachelor's degree in social science with a minor in anthropology and geography from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
