Dennis Tsu
Dennis Tsu, senior director of Innovation Programs for SRI International, manages the team that develops and delivers SRI’s Innovation Programs.
SRI’s Innovation Programs help organizations in government, academia, and industry to develop and implement processes that encourage, foster, and manage innovation and entrepreneurship within a supportive ecosystem. These programs have multiple repeat clients around the globe—in Canada, Chile, Malaysia, the Mideast, Japan, Finland, Turkey and other countries, as well as in the United States.
Tsu has more than 30 years of executive and business management experience in both the high-tech and cleantech sectors. He has been a founder and CEO for companies in solar energy and smartphone security, and was a vice president of marketing in four other venture-backed companies. He has also helped raise more than $40 million in venture funding.
Tsu was vice president of marketing for InfoGear Technology, a maker of Internet appliances and associated cloud computing solutions sold to Cisco Systems for more than $300 million. Tsu has also worked for large companies in the IT space (including IBM, Sun, and Cisco), and performed consulting assignments with both BCG (the Boston Consulting Group) and McKinsey & Co.
His experience covers a wide variety of networking, computing hardware and software, and security solutions for both commercial and retail markets. In the cleantech arena, Tsu has worked on solar PV technologies, LED lighting solutions, alternative energy vehicles, and residential and commercial energy efficiency solutions, as well as financing mechanisms for all of the above.
Tsu has a Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in economics from Princeton University, and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
