Erica Harbatkin
Erica Harbatkin is a research analyst in SRI International’s Center for Education Policy. She is participating in an evaluation of the National Science Foundation Innovative Technologies for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program, as well as an evaluation for the Department of Education of programs around the United States that prepare at-risk youth for postsecondary education and of the characteristics and effectiveness of career academies.
Before joining SRI, Harbatkin was an associate at ICF International, where she supported training, technical assistance, and capacity building contracts for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Office of Community Services within the Administration for Children and Families. Before her work at ICF, she was a reporter for newspapers in New Jersey and California. For the Gannett New Jersey newspaper group, she covered Rutgers University and K–12 education throughout the state.
Harbatkin earned her master’s degree in public policy from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University and her bachelor’s in print and multimedia journalism from Emerson College.
