Frances Miller

Frances Miller is a research analyst in SRI International’s Center for Education Policy. She is involved in numerous projects, including the Evaluation of the High School Leadership Initiative, the Study of the Rio Grande Valley Center for Teaching and Leading Excellence, the Evaluation of the Writing Project Professional Development in high-needs elementary schools, and the Evaluation of the California Linked Learning District Initiative. For each, she performs a variety of tasks ranging from survey development and administration to collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.

Before joining SRI, Miller began her research career at the University of Chicago’s Consortium on Chicago School Research. There, she worked on an evaluation of a new teacher evaluation system being piloted in the Chicago Public School District, a study seeking to understand the validity and reliability of this new system through the use of mixed methods.

Miller earned her B.A. in sociology with honors from the University of Chicago, where she completed her undergraduate thesis on the process of school improvement through redefining social structures and roles in the school.
