Hafeez Jaffer

Hafeez Jaffer is a software engineer in SRI International’s Communications, Radar, and Sensing Program. He focuses on solving technical issues related to radar, voice over IP (VoIP), speech recognition, and hierarchical temporal memory. One of his responsibilities is rewriting the software to control SRI’s anechoic radar chamber, a shielded room designed to attenuate electromagnetic energy.
 
Prior to joining SRI, Jaffer worked for two years at Applied Signal Technology, a defense company, as a software engineer writing signal processing applications.
 
Jaffer has BS and MS degrees in computer science from California Polytechnic State University. His studies have included distributed computing, software engineering, and artificial intelligence (expert systems, genetic algorithms, and neural networks).
