Championing SRI's innovations on Capitol Hill

Advocating SRI's initiatives before Congress
Before SRI:
I worked for several years on Capitol Hill and then entered the Congressional advocacy world in 1997.
Academics:
B.A., Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia
Why SRI?
SRI is an incredible institution. As somebody who has a background on Capitol Hill and has seen it all as far as entities pushing their initiatives, I am truly amazed and, frankly quite proud, that I work for SRI. I continuously surprise Congressional staff with our past, present, and future technologies and ideas.
Inspiration and Motivation:
I am continuously inspired and motivated by not only the great work that is performed at SRI but also by the incredibly gifted people who work here. Not only are people at SRI gifted, but those with whom I work on a regular basis I truly consider my good friends and even family. The work environment is unlike other places. At SRI, cooperation, not competition, to achieve success is encouraged. That, in my opinion, is a rare quality in the marketplace these days.
Away from the Office:
Sailing is definitely one of my passions. When I am not aggravating an injury, I am running and trying to get back into triathlon shape.
Languages:
A bit rusty Russian and Spanish
Words of Wisdom for New SRI Team Members:
You will immediately learn that SRI is a wonderful place to work. Cooperation, not competition, is the key to success here at SRI. Take advantage and learn from the great people who work here. Build partnerships and continue striving to develop cutting-edge research and ideas.
Favorites:
Authors include Ernest Hemingway, Ayn Rand, Wallace Stegner, and Richard Russo
