Before SRI:
I actually left SRI and came back. I went from SRI International to SRI Consulting when SRI spun out that practice in 1996. At SRIC, I did market research in the Chemical Marketing Research Division and industry consulting in the Chemicals and Energy Division before joining the Business Intelligence Division (which is now SRIC-BI. At SRIC-BI, I analyzed fuel cell developments, led consulting projects, and facilitated workshops using SRIC-BI methodologies such as scenario planning. I rejoined SRI International in January 2007.
Academics:
BS in chemistry, University of Redlands
MBA, Santa Clara University
Why SRI?
Creative, talented colleagues who are developing innovative solutions to important problems. An environment that promotes collaboration and integrity.
Inspiration and Motivation:
I put a new year's resolution I liked on my license plate: ASK4MOR. The world is full of interesting opportunities; I want to push myself to take advantage of all that's offered.
Away from the Office:
Trying new things, hiking, skiing, reading, gardening, cooking for friends; going out to a play, movie, or dance performance
Languages:
English only, to my chagrin
Proudest Professional Accomplishment:
My first repeat client. That's when you know you've done a great job.
Words of Wisdom for New SRI Team Members:
A good idea is just the start of the innovation process; linking it to an industry need, finding the right team and enabling components to make an idea work, and finding a way to support the development process are all important, too. It's tough to do it all; collaborate and iterate.
