Day in the Life @ SRI:
I spend most of my time supporting computer-related needs of the staff of both the Computer Science and System Design laboratories.

Before SRI:
I entered the workforce right after high school and worked for several years in the printing industry. I was employed by a large, nationwide copy company, spending my last year managing the company's store in Hawaii. I returned to California and worked for two years at a startup group that provided digital printing and content management. It was there that I was introduced to system administration.

Academics:
Community college courses and training seminars emphasizing routers and firewalls

Why SRI?:
SRI is a great place to be because of the variety of people, all concentrating on interesting research.

Inspiration (what motivates you):
I am motivated by learning about various aspects of both operating systems and Internet technologies. I am especially intrigued by computer intrusion detection.

Away from the Office:
I spend most of my time with my wife and young daughter. I enjoy reading a good book or watching a great movie.

Languages:
Minimal German

Proudest Accomplishment:
My daughter. My proudest work-related accomplishment is contributing to the complete redesign of the laboratories' computer facility.
