Jennifer Bland

Jennifer Bland is a research analyst in SRI International's Center for Education Policy. She focuses on teacher development, teaching quality, and K–12 school reform. She is experienced in analyzing state and federal policy trends and in collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.

Bland is a senior member of the research team for Teaching and California's Future, an ongoing study aimed at providing California policymakers with timely, objective data on the state's teacher workforce and teacher development system. Her other current projects include the National Evaluation of Writing Project Professional Development, the Evaluation of the California Linked Learning District Initiative, and a study of exemplary Peer Assistance and Review programs in California.

Previously, Bland co-led a set of case studies of low-income and minority student participation and performance in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Her previous project work also includes several studies that addressed aspects of district capacity, including a study of California's District Intervention and Regional Capacity Building Project and a study of district capacity and the use of new state funds for arts education in California.

Bland earned a B.A. with distinction in political science from Stanford University.
