Jennifer DuBois
Jennifer L. DuBois, Ph.D., is a senior scientist in SRI Biosciences’ Center for Infectious Disease and Biodefense. She has expertise in studying protein structure, spectra, and function, as well as the metabolic pathways into which these proteins are organized. Her work with microbial systems has focused on identifying and then characterizing interesting, novel, and potentially useful processes at both the protein and genetic levels, with a special emphasis on redox biochemistry and the biochemistry of metals such as iron and copper. DuBois has likewise has broad analytical expertise, including the development and application of new bioanalytical methods.
Her current work focuses on fundamental characterizations of newly identified protein families and their development toward antibiotic, herbicidal, and biotechnological applications.
DuBois holds a B.S. in biochemistry from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University. She was an NIH post-doctoral research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
