Jongwon Park

Jongwon Park is Associate Director of the Science and Technology Policy Program in SRI International's Center for Science, Technology, and Economic Development. Park's areas of expertise include national indicators of research and development; evaluation of government-funded R&D programs; science, technology, and innovation policy; assessments of technology-based economic development programs; analysis of scientific and technical human resource issues; and industry-university research cooperation.

Since joining SRI in 2002, Park has authored and co-authored a number of government program evaluation reports sponsored by federal agencies such as the Department of State, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Environmental Protection Agency. He has also led multiple projects sponsored by foreign governments such as Korea and Saudi Arabia. Since 2004, he has been a regular contributor to the National Science Board’s Science and Engineering Indicators, which documents quantitative data on the U.S. and international science and engineering enterprise.

Park received a B.S. in physics from Korea University and has passed the doctoral qualifying examination for the Ph.D. in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to his SRI responsibilities, Park serves as Senior Research Fellow at the Center for International Science and Technology Policy at George Washington University.
