Mark A. Clifton is vice president of SRI International’s Products and Services Division. In this position, he is responsible for new and existing products that evolve from SRI’s R&D technology. Offerings include TerraSight® situational awareness command and control (C2) products; CCD and CMOS image sensors that target scientific, space, and military needs; biometrics products built on groundbreaking Iris on the Move® recognition technology; and the FlexTrain™ multi-mission instrumentation system, which provides rapidly deployable support for the National Guard’s eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC).
Clifton is also the general manager of SRI’s Princeton, New Jersey location. He is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in engineering, business management, and business development, with deep knowledge of commercial and government markets.
Clifton most recently served as interim president and CEO at Sarnoff Corporation, which was integrated into SRI in January 2011. Prior to joining Sarnoff in 2008, Clifton served as vice president and general manager of the C3 Systems business unit for DRS Technologies. In this capacity, he provided business development, advanced technology, and program management competencies that included border surveillance, C2 software, military communications, advanced displays, system integration, and radar development.
Clifton holds a B.S. degree in ocean engineering from Florida Atlantic University and an M.S. in engineering from the University of Connecticut.
