Nyema Mitchell

Nyema Mitchell is a research analyst in SRI International’s Center for Education Policy. She is involved in several projects, including the evaluation of the Massachusetts Human Capital Management Initiative, the National Science Foundation evaluation of the Bridging the Valley: A Step Ahead for STEM Majors program, and the U.S. Department of Education’s Policy and Program Studies study Examining Implementation Strategies for Career Academies. On these studies and others, she participates in survey and interview protocol development, as well as qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.

Before joining SRI, Mitchell was a research associate for the Science and Technology Policy Institute. There, she provided research assistance to the President’s National Mathematics Advisory Panel task groups, working with the National Science Foundation to provide a systematic review of the outcomes and impacts of the Department Level Reform of Undergraduate Engineering Education grants and with the National Science Board on the development of the education section of the new Digest of Science and Engineering Indicators for 2008.

Mitchell earned her M.S. in public policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology and her B.A. in public policy and education studies at Brown University.
