Roneeta Guha

Roneeta Guha

Roneeta Guha is a senior researcher in SRI International’s Center for Education Policy. Her research focuses on K–12 educational reform and teacher development. She is experienced in a variety of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and analyses, the analysis of state and federal education policies, and program evaluation.

Currently, Guha is the project director of the evaluation of the California Linked Learning District Initiative, a multiyear study of a major systemic effort to transform high schools through programs of study that integrate rigorous academic instruction with a demanding technical curriculum and work-based learning. She is also the project director of a study of the Massachusetts Human Capital Management Initiatives. The three initiatives are Massachusetts’ new Educator Evaluation system, the Teacher Incentive Fund grant, and the Human Resources Reform Pilot. For these studies, Guha leads teams analyzing extant data, conducting case study work, and developing and analyzing surveys.

Among her other notable projects are Teaching and California’s Future, a multiyear research study of the teaching profession in California. Past work includes a study of arts education in California, an evaluation of Bay Area KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) schools, the national evaluation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Early College High School Initiative, the national evaluation of the Carnegie Corporation’s Schools for a New Society Initiative, and an evaluation of the federal Title I program.

Guha began her career as an admission counselor at Occidental College, a private liberal arts institution in Los Angeles, where she coordinated the International Student Admissions Program and conducted research on underrepresented students.

Guha holds an Ed.M. in international education policy from Harvard University. She earned her A.B. in public policy from Stanford University.
