Scott Seaton is vice president of the Engineering Research & Development Division at SRI International. In his role, Seaton directs a 200-plus-member staff conducting research, development, deployment, and support of technologies and systems in the areas of communications, radar, sensors, geospace science, medical devices, robotics, and space and marine technology.
In his more than 25 years at SRI, Seaton has held positions in executive management, business development, program and project management for both government and commercial organizations, and engineering. His areas of technical expertise include electronic system design and development, system architecture and specification, advanced wireless technologies, collaborative computing, observables technology, radar cross-section measurement techniques, radio frequency/data acquisition/control system design, over-the-horizon radar technology, radio direction-finding, and SIGINT techniques. He holds two issued patents.
Prior to joining SRI, Seaton served with the U.S. Naval Security Group in Pensacola, Florida, and Keflavik, Iceland. He holds a B.S. degree from San Jose State University.
