Focus @ SRI:
Pharmaceutical Chemistry, formulating drugs for in-vivo studies and for human clinical trials

Day in the Life @ SRI:
Writing proposals, brainstorming at meetings, interacting with clients, completing projects, identifying and pursuing new sources of revenue, expanding intellectual property. Each day brings new challenges, and it is worth every hour I spend at SRI.

Before SRI:
I had a very long stint in academia, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Prior to SRI, I worked at two large biotech companies in the Bay Area.

Why SRI?
SRI has an enviable mix of great minds, ample opportunities for growth, happy work atmosphere, and a very prestigious name. SRI gives me the opportunity to work with commercial projects as well as have my own grants to pursue my interests.

Inspiration and Motivation:
I am self-motivated and have a tendency to get passionate about projects that interest me.

Away from the Office:
I enjoy visiting places with my family. Together, we travel around the world. Last year we visited Mexico, Berlin, Prague, and Oahu.

Languages:
English has always been my first language, all through my school years. At home, I speak two Indian languages: Hindi and Tamil. I learned French but have not used it for a long time.

Proudest Professional Accomplishment:
I am proud to be a scientist. Professionally, having advanced degrees in different subjects gives me a competitive edge in my chosen line of work.

Words of Wisdom for New SRI Team Members:
Be versatile. Enjoy your work, it isn't worth it otherwise. Tap into the talents of the diverse workforce of SRI and you will be amazed to see many avenues of growth for yourself and others.
