Torsten Rohlfing

Senior Research Scientist, Center for Health Sciences

Torsten Rohlfing, Ph.D. is a senior research scientist in SRI International's Center for Health Sciences. He is a computer scientist and expert in biomedical image analysis.  Rohlfing has made significant contributions in particular to the fields of image registration, segmentation, and atlas construction. He is the primary developer of the Computational Morphometry Toolkit, a comprehensive set of software tools for imaging-based studies maintained with support from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), which has been successfully applied for studies in humans, small animals, and insects.

Rohlfing has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and is a reviewer for more than 20 international journals in the fields of engineering and biomedicine. He is on the editorial board for Medical Image Analysis, is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, and serves as associate editor (ad hoc) for Medical Physics.
