Postal automation involves widely diverse technologies ranging from mechanical handling to opto-electronics, from inks and dyes to telecommunications, and from process design to customer interfaces. SRI International (SRI), an active technology developer and prototype supplier to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), has available an equally broad range of expertise and in-house technologies in areas such as imaging, optical character recognition (OCR), artificial intelligence, computing architectures, electro-mechanical control, and design for manufacturability.
