SRI International (SRI) is a nonprofit engineering and scientific research corporation dedicated to providing an array of innovative solutions to industry and government since 1946. The Envirotechnical Program, within SRI’s Engineering & Systems Division, has over 20 years of experience supporting federal agencies and others with facility site selection and environmental compliance services. The range of services and expertise offered is diverse and focuses on new facility planning, feasibility, deployment, facilitation of interagency cooperation, and environmental compliance. In addition, our program has immediate access to experts within the company in almost every engineering and scientific discipline. Our experience enables agencies to fully and efficiently meet their obligations under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related legislation.
SRI’s Envirotechnical Program has supported numerous federal and private sector clients and their prime contractors. A summary of our clients and representative projects illustrates the range of initiatives for which we provide superior services. Typical development initiatives include new research and education centers; radar and other radio frequency sensor and communication systems; security infrastructure; and coastal-related development and infrastructure. These initiatives may involve complex multisite networks, facilities or equipment, or individual, often remote, development projects and classified projects.
Our geographic experience is broad. We have prepared over 450 NEPA documents and provided associated environmental compliance services throughout the United States and in many foreign countries. The Envirotechnical Program is led from SRI’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, with additional staff at SRI’s office in the Washington, D.C., area.
Contracting with SRI is possible via the GSA Environmental Services Schedule and other contracting vehicles. As a nonprofit research organization, our work is seen by industry and the public as independent, unbiased, and sound. In special cases, we subcontract to obtain local expertise familiar with unique conditions in the project area.
