National Science Foundation

SRI's Envirotechnical Program has conducted an environmental review of unusual and large scientific research facilities funded by the National Science Foundation in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. To complete this work, we applied our highly specialized expertise in the areas of human exposure to radio-frequency radiation and electromagnetic compatibility to prepare state-of-the-art analyses of potential impacts and develop innovative mitigation measures, such as incorporation of aircraft detection systems to prevent accidental exposure of airplane electronics to powerful electromagnetic signals.
