Foliage & Ground Penetrating Radar

SRI’s prototype system, shown at left, is being used to collect data needed to define the optimal GPR parameters for a practical forward-looking mine detection system. A very wide frequency range (300 to 3000 MHz), diverse polarization, and very sharp resolution (5 cm) are combined in this system. Advanced clutter reduction algorithms are being developed to decrease the false alarm rates.
