The ATRIUMTM is a modular, programmable platform developed at SRI to support research in the areas of communications and signal processing and provide unique capabilities to support our other work.
The ATRIUMTM itself is a base card for processing baseband signals using existing or custom FPGA and/or DSP firmware. The ATRIUMTM may be configured to transmit or receive, or to generate or capture and process test signals. The analog front end of the ATRIUMTM resides on a modular mezzanine card structure, allowing for optimum hardware design for specific applications without a loss of generality for the platform.
The ATRIUMTM operates in a commercial, off-the-shelf CompactPCI chassis. Standard embedded controllers offer a variety of processors and operating systems, and typically include all the standard interfaces of a desktop PC or workstation (Ethernet, parallel and serial ports, keyboard, monitor, and mouse).
Features:
- Standard 3Ux4T CompactPCI card (occupies single slot)
- FPGA and DSP resources for baseband digital signal processing
- Tunable on-board clock generator (up to 70 MHz)
- 2 MB on-board SRAM
- Quadrature digital modulation at baseband
- Modular expansion capability provided by mezzanine slots (RF front end, speical functions (e.g., ASICs for forward error correction or vocoder), etc.
- Independently selectable sampling frequency, carrier frequency, and symbol frequency
Existing Mezzanines:
|
TX70
- 70 MHz center frequency
- 10 MHz signal bandwidth
- 0 dBm transmit power
- Single-stage frequency conversion, on-board local oscillator
