August 17, 2012

Over the past several years, there has been greater understanding about how the first years of life lay the foundation for life-long learning and well-being. Child development from birth to third grade is critical to skills that are built later in life. In this podcast, Donna Spiker, Ph.D., program manager of the Early Childhood Program in SRI's Center for Education and Human Services, explains how SRI researchers examine programs and policies and work to promote the healthy development of young children.
