Although traumatic experiences such as violence can impact children's health, learning, and overall development, few scientific studies have examined the academic needs of students exposed to acute or chronic trauma. In this podcast, hear about SRI's study of Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), a school-based program that helps children cope with stress caused by exposure to trauma. The goal of the study is to inform policy makers, educators, and parents about how to best meet the needs of children who've been exposed to trauma.
