James Janesick Receives 2008 Imaging Scientist of the Year Award

James Janesick, a distinguished scientist and Manager, Advanced Sensor Group at Sarnoff, was awarded the 2008 Electronic Imaging Scientist of the Year Award at the Electronic Imaging 2008 Symposium. Mr. Janesick received this award in recognition of his innovative work with electronic CCD and CMOS sensors, and its significant benefit on the electronic imaging community.
Mr. Janesick's work at Sarnoff Corporation has led to the development of advanced CMOS imaging technology that recently demonstrated CMOS imaging that surpassed CCD performance. He is the recipient of two individual NASA achievement medals and numerous Group Achievement Awards. He has authored over 72 technical papers on CCD and CMOS devices, as well as several books on Charged Coupled Devices and Photon Transfer in imaging technology.
The award presentation was held on January 30, 2008 at the San Jose Marriot Hotel in San Jose, California. The Electronic Imaging Symposium is currently celebrating its 20th year and is sponsored jointly by The SPIE and The Society for Imaging Science & Technology.
