MTC and Sarnoff Partner to Deliver Holistic Solutions for Electronic Obsolescence
February 2, 2006
MTC Technologies, Inc. (MTC), through its wholly owned subsidiary, Manufacturing Technology, Inc. (MTI), together with Sarnoff Corporation, today announced a strategic partnership to provide a full range of solutions to guard military systems against electronic obsolescence. The MTC/MTI team is a leader in providing obsolescence prediction roadmaps, system level redesign, software upgrades, and subsystem manufacturing. Sarnoff is well known for the design and manufacturing of a full range of emulated microcircuit products when supplies are no longer available or improvements in reliability or sustainability are needed.
The partnership now offers a complete customized solution framed on the basis of time and budget available to fleet managers of military systems. Equally important, the partnership now offers complete proactive obsolescence protection for newly developed military systems and post deployed legacy systems -- a total life cycle security envelope. As a whole, the partnership will tackle obsolescence events across the full spectrum of military systems -- aircraft, ships, land vehicles, and missiles.
David Gutridge, MTC Chief Executive Officer, comments,"Clifton Gilmore and his team at our Ft. Walton Beach operations have had a long-standing relationship with Sarnoff. This agreement should enable Sarnoff and MTC to enhance our joint abilities to contribute to our nation’s warfighters by providing them with an even more comprehensive package of obsolescence solutions. As the average age of our military’s weapon systems continues to increase, we anticipate a growing market for this total package of obsolescence solutions."
James Hengle, Sarnoff’s Managing Director of Emulation Products and Technology, states, " Sarnoff has manufactured over 70,000 microcircuits for use in military platforms. Each year we push the envelope to provide ever increasingly complex emulated products to the military, for example, the Mil Standard 1750 microprocessor. This partnership blends the capabilities of each company to cover the full range of solution sets needed to sustain deployed weapon systems, thereby putting tremendous staying power in the hands of the warfighter."
