Sarnoff Licenses TerraSight® Aerial Video Exploitation Software to U.S. Army
May 5, 2009
Sarnoff Corporation today announced it has licensed TerraSight®, its video exploitation and analysis solution, to the U.S. Army. The licensing agreement includes unlimited copies and distribution service-wide.
TerraSight is an advanced C4ISR-enabling solution that provides the U.S. Army with a common operating picture. Video and data feeds are utilized to permit 3D situational understanding ideal for mission commanders, tactical operators, and imagery analysts.
“The global operational success of UAVs and ground sensors has created a mountain of video and data, now the challenge is leveraging that information to produce actionable intelligence,” said Dr. Don Newsome, President and CEO of Sarnoff Corporation. “Using TerraSight, the U.S. Army can cost-effectively implement a service-wide common operating picture.”
The U.S. Army will receive the full TerraSight software suite comprised of multiple software modules. TerraSight allows for simultaneous display of live sensor feeds in a common operating picture. Together, TerraSight’s modules form a proven asset that is ideal for persistent surveillance, area reconnaissance, mission planning and operations, and battle or collateral damage assessment. The system is currently deployed by all four service branches.
