SRI International Honored as a "Silicon Valley Best Place to Work"

MENLO PARK, Calif. -- November 21, 2006 -- SRI International, an independent, nonprofit research and development organization, today announced that it has been honored as one of Silicon Valley's "Best Places to Work." The annual award is given by San Jose Magazine and recognizes local companies dedicated to being an employer of choice.

Employee benefits, work environment and corporate culture were among the criteria reviewed for inclusion in the "Best Places to Work" list. SRI was commended for offering up to $100 per month in tax-free transit assistance, onsite massage, a staff activities center, emergency back-up childcare, employee art exhibitions, and local and community involvement. A full list of companies selected appears in the November 2006 edition of San Jose Magazine.

SRI was also recognized in 2006 (for the third consecutive year) as a "Best Place to Work" by San Francisco Business Times, East Bay Business Times and Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, and as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency “Best Workplace for Commuters” for the fourth time. In addition, the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce selected SRI for a Golden Acorn Award for community service and business excellence in Menlo Park.
