SRI International to Host Xconomy Forum: Beyond Mobile and Computing in 2021
May 4, 2011—In 2001, few could have foreseen current computing technology trends such as smartphones, cloud storage and processing, or the tablet revolution. Computing technology and trends evolve so quickly, it's hard to predict what will happen next year, let alone ten years from now. Will we still interact with computing devices through keyboards and pointing devices, or will touch, voice, and gestural interfaces take over? What role will today's computing and mobile companies, both large and small, play in the technology of tomorrow?
On Tuesday, May 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., SRI International will host some of the West Coast’s leading visionaries for an evening debate on the future of computing at the Xconomy Forum: Beyond Mobile — Computing in 2021. The event, at SRI’s headquarters in Menlo Park, will focus on how consumers and professionals will use computers and mobile devices a decade from now. The evening will feature a panel discussion, followed by startup presentations from Anybots, DrChrono, and TRUSTe, and a networking reception.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Curt Carlson, President and CEO, SRI International
- Bill Mark, Vice President, Information and Computing Sciences Division, SRI International
- Dan Reed, Corporate Vice President of Technology Policy and Strategy, Microsoft; Leader, eXtreme Computing Group, Microsoft Research
- Larry Smarr, Director, California Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2)
- Chris Babel, CEO, TRUSTe
- Trevor Blackwell, Founder, Anybots
