Team Autonomous Solutions Advances to Semi-Finals of Urban Challenge

Sarnoff Corporation today announced its advancement to the semi-finals of the DARPA Urban Challenge as part of Team Autonomous Solutions. The Urban Challenge is a competition designed to foster the development of autonomous ground vehicles and ultimately save lives on the battlefield.

Sarnoff has collaborated with Autonomous Solutions, Inc, and DeVivo AST, Inc, to compete in the event, and is one of the 36 teams remaining from an initial group of 89. Sarnoff’s video-based sensing technology equips the autonomous vehicle with the ability to “see,” via increased road awareness, vehicle perception, lane determination and obstacle avoidance.
