Global Impacts of FedEx in the New Economy

How does a corporation affect the economy and society in which it operates? What are the key impacts generated by a company, and how are these impacts identified and measured? These are the questions posed to SRI International by FedEx Corporation.
 
This report presents the results of the first comprehensive initiative to assess the impacts of FedEx on the New Economy. In many ways, FedEx and its activities form a bridge between the Old and New Economies and have served as an "enabler" of New Economy transactions and industries. This study applies to FedEx a series of methodologies designed by SRI to develop impact modules on how FedEx has affected the businesses and consumers it serves, as well as the transportation/logistics industry and the national and global economies.
