Prototype UCP microscope image of single phosphor particles

Our research applies SRI-proprietary upconverting phosphor reporter technology to create biosensors for commercial and military use. We have created biosensors for environmental sensing, medical diagnostics and biowarfare agent detection.

Future research will develop new sensor platforms for high-throughput screening, genomics, and proteomics. Three patents have been issued relating to the composition, method of use, and instrumentation for detecting upconverting phosphors.
