Innovative Synthesis

SRI's Innovative Synthesis research has yielded a wide range of new molecular assemblies that can be tailored to meet the needs of clients. The lab's work encompasses the invention of new materials, synthesis at different levels (from the milligram-to-gram scale, up to the small-pilot-plant level) and the transition of this research to industry. Findings are applied to the development of environmentally benign synthetic routes for some chemicals, biomorphic antibiotic and antiviral drugs, new airbag (propellant) technology, new dyes and polymers.
