Behavioral Pharmacology

SRI bridges basic and applied science in behavioral pharmacology by studying factors that contribute to drug addiction and pain.

SRI's behavioral pharmacology research, funded by numerous government agencies and commercial companies, includes investigations of the role of opiate receptors in pain relief and addiction. These psychopharmacology studies may lead to discoveries of nonaddictive analgesics.
