The Library of Congress asked SRI to conduct an evaluation of its Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Program, using a series of surveys and project case studies. The evaluation, completed in September 2012, successfully met all three of its main goals:
-
The evaluation described the TPS program, including who participates in it, how the program differs across TPS sites, and the extent to which TPS training events are characteristic of high-quality professional development.
-
The evaluation assessed the extent to which TPS participants attain program goals.
-
The evaluation determined the extent to which TPS training events influence participants in terms of changes in classroom practice and instruction.
