Sarnoff Corporation
offers electronic, information, and biomedical innovations to address
marketplace needs. Located in Princeton, New Jersey, Sarnoff is
a trusted resource for government agencies and companies around
the world. Sarnoff performs contract research and development, licenses
its existing intellectual property, and partners in venture companies
based on its technology. More than one-third of Sarnoff’s staff
of 600 have PhDs. Sarnoff’s 2004 revenues were $117 million.
Founded in 1942 as RCA
Laboratories and gifted to SRI in 1987, Sarnoff’s legacy of contributions
include the development of color TV, the liquid-crystal display,
the digital transmission platform for satellite TV, and the disposable
hearing aid. It played a leading role in creating the U.S. digital
and HDTV standard, and has won 10 Emmy® Awards for outstanding
achievement in technological advancement.
