Irmary Garcia Maisonet
Research Analyst, Center for Education Policy
Irmary Garcia Maisonet is a research analyst in SRI International’s Center for Education Policy. Garcia Maisonet specializes in K–12 education and has a particular interest in college and career readiness. Currently, Garcia Maisonet is involved in projects concerning teacher quality, college and career readiness, and student socio-emotional learning. Garcia Maisonet’s project responsibilities include assisting with literature reviews, quantitative and qualitative data collection (e.g., extant data collection, observations, and surveys), analysis, and reporting. Current projects are Health Career Pathways with Alameda Health System, New Teacher Center’s Investing in Innovation Scale-Up Grant, Evaluation of College-Ready Writer’s Program-SEED, and the Evaluation of Long Beach Skills for Success Program.
Before joining SRI, Garcia Maisonet was a research and analytics consultant at the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE). At the NYC DOE, she provided analytical and qualitative support for the district-wide Equity and Excellence initiatives. She also assisted external evaluators with their research needs by providing them with district data and assisting with ad hoc evaluations. In collaboration with the NYC Department of Health, Garcia Maisonet evaluated district policies. Prior to working at the NYC DOE, Garcia Maisonet was a program evaluation intern at the Urban Arts Partnership where she helped prepare biannual reports for internal staff on the program outcomes. She helped with qualitative data collection, data entry, and analysis.
Garcia Maisonet earned her master’s degree in education policy at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
