Senior Program Director, Communications, Radar and Sensing Program
John Allen leads projects in digital signal processing and algorithm development. He has also led studies of electro-optical system availability, strategic laser communications availability, simulation of IR cloud clutter scenes, and algorithm performance evaluation for electro-optical sensor collections. He has worked on development of network flow algorithms and advanced automation for the US Postal Service.
Allen has experience in applied probability and statistics, digital signal processing and communications, information theory, and computer and mathematical techniques. Previously, he was an instructor in mathematics at the University of California, Davis.
He has completed graduate courses in information theory and signal processing at Stanford University and published numerous symposium papers and technical reports. Allen received his M.S. in operations research from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. degree with highest honors in mathematics from the University of California, Davis.
