Science and Technology Policy Analyst, Center for Innovation Strategy and Policy
John Benskin, D.M.A., has 15 years of experience in research and analysis on a wide variety of public policy topics. He has worked in a variety of roles for government, academic and commercial clients in the United States and abroad, including the National Science Foundation’s National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES), the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and Imam University, Riyadh.
Benskin has extensive experience in survey design and administration, preparation of case studies on economic indicators, and analytical work supporting publications. He has contributed in a variety of roles to recent editions of the National Science Board’s Science and Engineering indicators reports. He has worked on many NSF projects, including leading the team responsible for developing a website, data collection tool, and project database for the Pathways to Revitalized Undergraduate Computing Education (CPATH) program evaluation for NSF’s Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE). He led the NCSES task order on the “Feasibility of Data Collection on Nonprofit Sector Funding and Performance of S&E R&D.”
Benskin holds a D.M.A. in Composition from the Catholic University of America.
