Research Analyst, Center for Learning and Development
Kaycee Ensign specializes in projects on early childhood assessment, data systems, and rethinking preschool discipline. Current projects include the Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems (DaSy), K-3 Formative Assessment Consortium, and IRAD Practicum Guide for Reducing Suspensions and Expulsions in Preschool Programs.
Ensign’s responsibilities are tracking both large and small data sets, monitoring product development, conducting qualitative research, analyzing qualitative data, providing website support, interviewing, and coordinating with schools and teachers.
Before joining SRI, Ensign was a summer policy assistant at the Department of Education in the Office of the Secretary. She worked primarily on Teach to Lead, an initiative to provide space and opportunities for new models of teacher leadership.
Ensign holds a B.A. in government and sociology with a minor in African and African-American studies from the University of Virginia.
