Senior Scientific Programmer/Analyst
Mary McCracken is primarily a SAS programmer, through decades of work with data she also has had opportunities to code in SQL, Stata, SPSS, Lisrel, Amos, and HLM.
McCracken is lead programmer on the Evaluation of Achieving the Illinois Learning Standards for Math and external evaluator for the Denver Public Schools Collaborative Strategic Reading, Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems, and Unconditional Education. She has conducted extensive secondary analysis of National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 (NLTS2) data for multiple grants, presentations, and papers related to postsecondary success, STEM, and individual disabilities.
On prior SRI projects, McCracken was lead programmer on both the Special Education Elementary Longitudinal Study (SEELS) and NLTS2, which provided national population estimates for many of the key questions related to programs and outcomes for students who receive special education services.
Before joining SRI, McCracken programmed for major insurance and banking institutions.
She holds a B.A. in music business and a minor in humanities from San Jose State University.
