Research Social Scientist
Sara Thayer, Ph.D., has experience formulating questions and using data to address those questions having conducted research on assessment, special education, social-emotional development, literacy, and mathematics. She also has experience designing and providing educational activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with disabilities, and evaluating interventions for early elementary school-age children.
She has conducted more than 40 reviews for IES’s What Works Clearinghouse, including reviews in the areas of early childhood education and early childhood education interventions for children with a disability, and worked on several summary intervention reports. She is also familiar with assessment for children with disabilities through her work on the National Study on Alternate Assessments, which examined special education teacher assessment practices and quality in three states.
Her Ph.D. in psychology is from George Mason University.
