Daniela Torre Gibney, PhD works to support programs and inform policies that aim to improve teaching and school quality, particularly for multilingual students, English learners, and minoritized students. She has conducted research and program evaluations focused on teacher preparation, teaching quality, and school improvement for over 7 years. She has also worked on teams to provide technical assistance to organizational leaders focused on using data for continuous improvement.

Dr. Torre Gibney’s research experience includes designing and implementing QEDs and correlational research studies, cleaning and analyzing large extant data sets, developing and administering surveys and analyzing survey data, developing qualitative interview protocols, interviewing diverse program participants, and leading teams to analyze qualitative data.

She has regularly presented her work at national conferences and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Teaching and Teacher Education, Education Policy Analysis Archives, Educational Management, Administration & Leadership, and Journal of Education for Students Placed at Risk.

Dr. Torre Gibney received her PhD in leadership and policy studies from Vanderbilt University and earned her MA in teaching English to students of other languages from American University in Washington, DC. She taught in bilingual, English as a second language (ESL), and general education classrooms for 5 years in Washington, DC, and Brooklyn, New York.
