Erin Rivard

Laboratory Director, Surveillance Laboratory

Erin Rivard leads the Surveillance Lab in the Advanced Systems and Technology Division. Her team focuses on radar, passive radio frequency (RF), and electro-optical and infra-red (EOIR) systems engineering and development, sensor data exploitation, sensor resiliency, ocean modeling, and deep learning information-theoretic algorithms and processing. In addition to broad RF and EOIR sensor experience, her team holds deep subject matter expertise in synthetic aperture radar (SAR).

As a primary investigator, Rivard has led projects in a wide range of applications, including space domain awareness, ocean traffic monitoring, and power harvesting and non-radiative power transfer. Rivard received her M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
