Stephanie M. Chin

SRI International September 8, 2021

Senior Project Manager, SRI Education

Stephanie M. Chin, JD/MBA, stands out for three things: ongoing performance improvement, coaching individuals and teams, and focusing on how building inclusive environments helps us all do our best work. She joins SRI as a senior project manager with more than 15 years of managing projects and programs for nonprofits in communities across the United States.

Chin recognizes that her greatest impact is in helping others perform at their best while helping them to reach their highest potential. Chin uses the Situational Leadership framework, Co-Active Training Institute techniques, and a focus on equity and inclusion to help staff improve their performance. The greatest compliments she has received from staff include, “You’ve made me so brave since I’ve met you” and, “You’re the only manager who’s helped me get to the next level.”

Before joining SRI, Chin spent 8 years as a subject matter expert on income/financial stability in the United Way network at the global level for United Way Worldwide and locally in Des Moines, Iowa. Under her project leadership, Central Iowa Works doubled its staff and increased its staff diversity after securing a $1.5 million grant with the Department of Labor. In Chin’s role with MyFreeTaxes, the organization increased the number of tax filers from 50,000 to over 200,000. In 2020, her project management support helped to create United Way’s Equity Framework.

Chin holds the Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration degrees from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a Six Sigma Green Belt and has completed Co-Active Fundamentals training as a coach. She is a former board member of the Cal Alumni Club of Washington, DC and the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network New York City chapter.
